UWI partners with UNEP and SRC in Poster Competition to raise awareness on the Green Economy

The Scientific Research Council (SRC) in association with the United Nations Environment Programme and the University of the West Indies is issuing a call for students from primary and secondary schools to submit entries for its Green Economy Poster Competition.

The competition is targets students who have an interest in, or are already doing the Sciences in school. It also forms a part of the SRC’s mandate to promote the interest, awareness and understanding of Science and Technology and Innovation among the Jamaican school population. Students may submit entries in any of 5 categories, namely the Green Economy and Water Conservation, Tourism, Agriculture, Construction and Energy.

There is over $60,000 in cash and prizes to be won. The top entrants will each receive $15000, the runner ups $10,000 each and third place winners $5,000 each. The competition is supported by the European Union. The competition closes January 9, 2015
